Bullitt County Fiscal Court
Meeting of November 18, 2025
Bullitt County Fiscal Court 11.18.2025
Summary
The Bullitt County Fiscal Court met on November 18, 2025, opening with an invocation by Pastor Sam Hillman of First Baptist Church. The court approved the minutes of the Nov. 4 meeting, the treasurer's transfer report, all bills with an addendum, and the treasurer's report.
On zoning, the court gave second reading and approved Ordinance 25-26 (Brian and Jennifer Seigo, 20 acres on Knob Creek Road, rezoned to agricultural) and Ordinance 25-28, a text amendment updating the planning fee schedule. For Ordinance 25-27, the proposed R5 residential zone requested by a developer in Hill View, the court took no action. Without sewers the zone is not workable in the county, so the ordinance will not take effect.
EMS received several approvals: hiring Ben Neil as a part-time paramedic at $27 an hour, surplusing three Transit squads (one to be sold on GovDeals, one repurposed for community outreach, one to the school board), and paying $277,000 on delivery for the second ambulance ordered in 2022, which will bring the fleet to 10 ambulances.
The court went into executive session for potential litigation, then returned to regular session and voted to hire the law firm of Vaughn and Pettit for future litigation to support the county attorney. Magistrates raised road closure signage, a resident's doubled trash bill after Mount Washington changed contractors, and surplus property auction plans. The judge floated a magistrate pay raise, which can only be set in an election year, for discussion on Dec. 16. The meeting adjourned at 10:40.
