Summary

The Bullitt County Fiscal Court met January 18, 2022, and handled routine financial business, two rezonings, water-line funding agreements and several emergency services purchases and hires.

The court approved the treasurer's transfer report, the bills, the treasurer's report and the minutes of the previous meeting. It gave final approval to two zoning changes: one from heavy industrial to R-1 residential, and one from agricultural to R-1 residential at Applegate Run.

A third zoning case, the HC development, was postponed. The applicant's principal officer had tested positive for COVID and could not appear. The county attorney advised that no testimony be taken from one side only. The first reading and public hearing were moved to February 1, 2022, well inside the 90-day window.

The court approved two memorandums of agreement with Louisville Water Company, one for the Cedar Creek main extension and one for the Roe Hill Road booster pump station and fire protection main. It also approved hiring an assistant emergency management director and two part-time paramedics at $25 an hour.

The court approved buying a Polaris side-by-side with a patient attendant seat and a trailer for emergency management, about $35,221 in total and paid from grant funds. The vote was 4-1, with Magistrate Mitchell opposed because he wanted more time to review. Magistrates also praised the road department's snow response and discussed storing salt in Mount Washington and Nichols. The meeting then adjourned.
