Summary

The Bullitt County Fiscal Court met on October 7, 2025. It approved the September 16 minutes and allowed LG&E to pave about 1,370 feet of Big Country East road at its own expense. The road will not be taken into the county maintenance system.

The jailer presented retirement badges and certificates to former jailers and honored detention center staff, dispatchers and EMS personnel for life-saving CPR and AED work on an inmate in cardiac arrest.

The court held first readings and public hearings on four rezonings: a Dollar General site on West Blue Lick Road, 225-227 Prior Valley Road, 1391 Bogard Lane, and Coral Ridge Road. It also held a first reading on an ordinance amending land disturbance rules (permits would last one year, with set work hours and fill limits). Second readings are set for October 21.

The court accepted a $19,000 state agreement and resolution for resurfacing Pool Lane, approved a $13,850 annual stream-gauge agreement reimbursed by Jim Beam, updated the administrative code, accepted sheriff surplus items, approved the treasurer's transfer report and paid the bills. The judge said revenue will rise with tax collections and FEMA reimbursements.

The court promoted Brent to assistant road director at $68,500, with half the pay difference now and half after six months. It reorganized emergency services: Justin Warren will lead both emergency management and EMS at $80,000, rising to $85,000 after six months, and John Waters will become EMA director at $71,000. A discussion of selling two county buildings was postponed to the next meeting, and hospitality appointments were tabled.

No, you're good. That didn't work. Judge Summers in matters of physical court. Uh thank you for allowing me to speak today. My name is Paul Weiss. Uh I'm the manager of real estate rightway for Louisville Gas and Electric. Uh with me today is Dustin Weber. Uh he's also one of the rightway agents. Uh as you're sure you're aware, uh LG has been constructing pipeline in Bullet County. Uh as part of that project, we've been working with some land owners along Big Country East um who have raised some concerns about the condition of uh the road and our use of the road. Uh as a part of those discussions um and that road is probably maintained by those land owners. And as as a as a result of some discussions and agreement, LG has agreed to pave a portion of that Big Country East Road. uh for them. Uh but in order for us to

  • 5:31

do that, according to state statute, we have to secure LGBS secure physical core approval, and that's what we're here today requesting. Uh we're not asking for the road to be accepted for county road maintenance. Uh that's not what we're here today. We're just asking for the approval to pay the road for the state. Okay, we have some handouts here. It will dictate where the road is the land impacted and that sort of stuff you know approximately how long the portion it's about 1370 ft give or take you know it's from uh east Indian stone to ponderros place kind of those those two intersections there if you're familiar with them it'll be paved as kind of this current width of where the gravel is today you know it'll be pus know whatever I don't know if paid so it's not going to be accepted in the county maintenance but it's going to be paid state specs or it'll be paid with yeah we've been in communication with Mr. the county road. So like 6 in gravel base 3 in asphalt and one and a half inch

  • 6:46

as hard in but we're not installing sidewalks or any sort of stuff. So LG is going to pay for it. Yes. and our contractor. Any other questions? If not, I'll put that in the form of a motion. Second. I have a second before district mag and call a role, please. Yes. Yes. Yes. Thank you. Thank you all so much. Thank you. Thank you. Ryan, hello. Sheriff Tammy Court. Thank you for your time.
