Bullitt County Fiscal Court
Meeting of May 7, 2024
Bullitt County Fiscal Court 05.07.2024
Summary
The Bullet County Fiscal Court met May 7, 2024. It routinely approved the treasurer's transfer report, all bills, and minutes from the April 16, April 26 and April 29 meetings.
The court held first readings and public hearings on five zoning items: Ordinance 247, a text amendment adjusting planning fees; Ordinances 248 and 249, rezoning two parcels on Brooks Hill Road from R1 to light industrial for a lawn care and landscaping contractor shop; and Ordinances 2410 and 2411, rezoning Stout Farm Brothers land on Deerwood Drive from agricultural to conservation for a subdivision. Second readings are set for May 21. No votes were taken on these.
The Deerwood Drive neighbors raised concerns about road width, gravel shoulders, construction truck wear, school bus and blind curve safety, traffic on Barstown Road, and smaller lot sizes. The applicant's attorney said the planning commission required a widened road, maintenance by the developer during construction, no mobile homes and single-family homes only. He said a second entrance onto Barstown Road is planned later.
The court approved interlocal paving agreements with the county schools, payment of cleanup day workers, a fire department reappointment, and a renewed spay/neuter agreement with Hardin County Animal Control. It also approved five EMS hires and a part-time animal control kennel attendant. EMS retention and sick time policy were discussed at length. The meeting then adjourned.
