Bullitt County Fiscal Court
Meeting of August 16, 2022
Bullitt County Fiscal Court 08 16 2022
Summary
The Bullitt County Fiscal Court met on August 16, 2022. It approved routine financial items: the treasurer's transfer report, the bills and the treasurer's report. EMA Director Justin was thanked for relief work in eastern Kentucky, where the county delivered donated goods and police cars after the flooding.
The court passed second readings of five zoning ordinances (2214 through 2218) and an ordinance (2213) amending the county's Sunday alcohol sales rules for small farm wineries and distilleries. It also approved the KYTC paving recommendations for the coming fiscal year.
The court approved the county's share of a 2020 EMA grant for a mobile command trailer and a vehicular repeater system, a roughly 2-for-1 match. It voted to buy two International dump trucks, with delivery expected in about 18 months. It also approved hiring a judge's office administrator, a solid waste coordinator, and a part-time animal shelter worker.
Residents spoke about police coverage, I-480 and I-65 interchange work, and the planning process for warehouse rezonings. A Highway 61 resident asked for a lower speed limit near new warehouses. The court voted to ask the state to cut the limit from 55 to 45 mph from the Salt River bridge to KY 245. The meeting also covered the opioid settlement funds and the sheriff's addiction-referral program, and ended with a motion to go into executive session on land acquisition and contract matters.
