Summary

The Bullet (Bullitt) County Fiscal Court held a special meeting on January 10, 2025. It approved the minutes from December 17 and 23, the treasurer's transfer report, and the bills.

Emergency Management gave a brief update on the recent windstorm: 142 total runs, 684 calls processed by dispatch, warming centers at four sites, and about 25,000 people without power at one point. Officials said there were plenty of volunteers and few people needing the warming centers. A fuller presentation is planned for the next meeting.

Four zoning matters had first readings and public hearings: three rezonings from agricultural to R1 (Lafal, Laring, Tucker) and a text amendment removing the planned unit development option. No one spoke for or against. Second readings are set for January 21, 2025.

The court adopted Resolution 25-1, prohibiting medical cannabis use by county employees, citing the risk to federal funding. It also approved a roughly $50,000 engineering services partnership with Lincoln Trail for the stormwater (MS4) plan, and added work to the animal shelter project (a porch and additional windows). The Merryville pool bathroom bids were tabled, board of assessment appeals members were paid, and two EMS employees moved to full-time. The court then went into executive session for personnel matters and later returned to regular session and adjourned.

recovery after okay and then if you need individual reports for your District I can get those 4 okay I do got one quick question first of all thank you all so much for everything you've done absolutely amazing I've seen a lot of positive comments about how everybody's responded uh but something's on my mind just real quick when you brought up a warming Center uh what role did turnaround Resource Center play because I seen something on social media that said that we had absolutely no volunteers show up for pretty much any location but I didn't see that till after it was kind of like too late after the fact I was just kind of curious what role they played in reaching out to volunteers because I I didn't really know that we needed volunteers but then no volunteers showed up apparently so my next question would be if a state of eerc declared in the future if we set up warming centers is that something that we could look at possibly paying people to show up if nobody wants to volunteer I mean if we can't get people I don't know if that was a problem I don't know but it sound like according to her Facebook post it was you know pretty disappointing that nobody showed up but I didn't know that we was even looking for volunteers for that so I think it's the rosary ver uh

  • 8:24

we had plenty of volunteers we didn't have anyone needing assistance show up okay we only had one up at shephardsville no one showed up and in Hill had quite a few show up okay so because according to her post it was nobody wanted to volunteer only had one person show up to volunteer she she was um shy on the how many volunteers she had but we did have plenty we sta 24 hours a day I think we had four people each day and then we started reaching out to other organizations like rall Foundation up in theth they helped out as well okay well that's that's awesome because I I really I kind of got sick to my stomach like wow if I known that you know there was a need or something but there was no issue because that was going to be my recommendation is if nobody's wanting to volunteer kind of like election workers is it something we can look at maybe providing some type of incentive to get people to show up to help in these situations when there is a state of emergency but that's all I got we're good and you know last year when we had the same thing and we were short in volunteers we did it we set it school okay so it'll always be covered okay okay well good to know okay thank you thank you um first reading public hearing Zen ordinance 25-1 Gerald and Judy lafal Charlie good morning planning doet 2024
