Bullitt County Fiscal Court
Meeting of May 19, 2026
Bullitt County Fiscal Court 05.19.2026
Summary
The Bullitt County Fiscal Court met May 19, 2026. It approved routine items including the prior minutes, the treasurer's and transfer reports, and all bills, with every recorded vote in favor.
A Hillview-area resident, a Vietnam veteran, raised safety concerns about heavy truck traffic on Hein Lane from a site being cleared for a proposed truck parking lot. County staff said the developer's site plan was rejected because the road is too narrow, and a land disturbance permit limits dirt removal to 50 cubic yards a day. A letter was sent last Thursday, and a cease and desist letter was discussed as the next step. The sheriff explained that weight enforcement and civil orders have limits, and the court voted to have him look into the cost of portable truck scales.
Residents also asked about a possible data center near Cedar Grove Road and Millers Lane. Officials said nothing has been presented, any proposal would first go through planning and zoning, and the county's zoning regulations from 1987 are being updated.
The court reappointed Billy Ashby to the Nichols fire district board and honored EMS deputy director Rebecca Osman on her last day. It gave second reading and approval to three zoning changes (ordinances 2617, 2618 and 2619) and approved Kentucky Pride household hazardous waste and recycling grant agreements. It also approved several hires and part-time to full-time changes for EMS, the road department and animal control, then adjourned.
