Summary

The Bullitt County Fiscal Court met on July 20, 2021. After the roll call, the court approved the bills, the treasurer's report and the minutes of the July 6 meeting. It also recognized Mike Robinson, the new chief of the Nato fire district.

The court approved lowering the speed limit on Bogard Lane to 35 mph. Magistrates said residents had called in favor of the change, and the limit will now match the rest of the road outside the city. The sheriff's office said it had found few reported crashes there.

The court held second readings on several rezoning requests. Zoning changes 2021-Z13, Z15, Z16 and Z19 were approved. The Jackson request (Z14), from residential to light industrial with restrictions, was denied for not fitting the comprehensive plan.

The court accepted a bid of $15,000 for milling the Stoney Ridge subdivision and adopted a resolution continuing the National Incident Management System. It also approved the sheriff's 2020 tax settlement and declared a small parcel next to the Maryville pool surplus so it can be sold. The sheriff reported $91.3 million collected, about 99% of taxes assessed, with about $6.7 million going to the fiscal court.

A resident read a poem protesting taxes. The Turnaround Center announced a grand opening on August 7 in Lebanon Junction, and a new EMS ambulance was announced. The meeting then adjourned.
