Summary

The Bullitt County Fiscal Court met on August 19, 2025, with all five members present. Routine business was approved, including the August 5 minutes, the treasurer's transfer report, the bills (after some questions about a contractor's proof of work), and the treasurer's report.

Residents and local groups spoke during the meeting. Brandon Scott raised safety concerns about school traffic and speeding near Burnham Forest and asked for officers or a lower speed limit. The judge promised to talk with the school board, the constable, the city of Shepherdsville and the state transportation cabinet. The sheriff's office invited the court to its second annual awards dinner in November, and the Chamber of Commerce described a September luncheon that will deliver meals to first responders.

The court heard an update on FEMA reimbursement for the February 2025 flood disaster. Estimates were roughly $50,000 for debris removal, $216,000 for emergency protective measures and $50,000 for roads and bridges. Road repairs are expected to be finished by the first week of September, and FEMA expects to reimburse before Christmas.

The court added Raleigh Ridge Road to the county road listing as a private road, accepted a new code enforcement fee schedule, and adopted a radio reception ordinance on first reading, with a formal ordinance due at the next meeting. It also appointed Bernie McGuffin to the joint planning commission and then adjourned. The next meeting is September 2.
