Summary

The Bullitt County Fiscal Court met on May 16, 2023. It approved routine financial items (treasurer's transfer report, bills, treasurer's report) and the May 2, 2023 minutes.

Emergency management staff reported on the March 2-3 wind events. The estimated FEMA reimbursement is about $380,000 and could rise as more debris is cleaned up. They also showed the renovated emergency operations center, which finished under budget and can host free statewide training.

The court held first readings and public hearings on four rezoning ordinances. Ordinance 2312 (Kentucky Land Holdings, Castleman Branch Road, about 505 acres) was the contested one: the planning commission recommended denial, and several neighbors spoke against it over drainage, steep terrain, septic, road width and flooding. No one spoke against ordinances 2313 (Romine, 2 tracts), 2314 (Wood, 3 tracts) or 2315 (Belmont Road, conservation zoning). All four return for second reading June 6.

The court passed the second reading of Ordinance 2311 amending the flood damage prevention ordinance. It also made appointments to the fire protection district, extension board and southeast fire district board, approved an interlocal agreement with the sheriff's office and the Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force, moved an EMT from part-time to full-time, and named citizens to a reapportionment committee that will recommend new districts before the 2026 election.

In closing comments the judge noted that Hillview has applied to annex property from Shepherdsville, and he invited magistrates to discuss it individually or at a special meeting. He also mentioned disc golf plans and sponsorship opportunities at the Maryville park.

the dots on the stream are different assessments that we went out and did we use a program called survey123 to submit these assessments to the state it goes directly to the state EOC during the incident and afterwards so anything that we update later on [Music] those are the public assistance assessments that we've started off doing those are for any city or county building property anything like that many damages done to them all the information is in there and go straight to the EOC as well those are the individual assistants those are the privately owned properties of the citizens FEMA says that they mostly go for underinsured or uninsured homes so if shingles are blown off roofs they're not looking for that as much as if there was major structural damage to the residents threshold for damage is 365 000 43.48 they said our population is estimated to be about 82 217. [Music] so they divide the threshold by the population which equals that to be about

  • 6:25

four dollars and 44 cents per person on average every county is different as of today the possible FEMA reimbursement that we're going to get is about 380 000 for the damages uh that can rise we clean up more debris um they have assigned us a female representative they haven't contacted us yet but they will be assisting us with the rest of the reimbursement process okay that I just want to give an update on the renovation for the EOC as you can see on the left because the before picture there was an office in a supply room on the right and then the pitcher on the right is during the construction additional pictures uh they came in and redid the entire period of the sewing new flooring approximately 4 500 square feet upstairs and downstairs and then this is close to the finished pitcher here all the tables and chairs have been assembled there's 20 tables 40 chairs and eight
