Summary

The Fiscal Court met on December 6, 2022. It announced that public comment will now come at the start of meetings, so the court can answer residents' questions and act on them in the proper order. Residents raised a drainage problem on Shady Brook Lane and asked about internet service upgrades near Livers Lane. The court said it would follow up with MSD and with the internet provider.

The court approved the sheriff's amended budget. It moves money within the existing budget and adds no new funds. The changes cover higher dispatch salaries, replacement body cameras (about $166,000), three vehicles bought at state contract price, and grant-funded pistols and rifles. They also cover rifle racks, rifle-rated body armor plates, two new dual-purpose dogs and a drug detection dog, a drone, and metal-detecting wands for deputies.

Three rezonings had first readings and public hearings: Deborah Keith (agricultural to R-4), Dallas and Evelyn Foster (agricultural to R-1), and Thomas Brooks Jr. (stream reserve to R-1). A fourth, for Lockhart Investments (conservation to heavy industrial for a semi truck repair shop), also had a hearing. Second readings are set for December 15. The Lockhart rezoning carries deed-filed restrictions that stay with the property.

The court approved buying a tilt trailer for the road department for about $19,300 and a motor grader for $387,897, locked in at the old state contract price before it rose by roughly $100,000. It also approved EMS promotions and positions, and moved remaining American Rescue Plan revenue-loss funds to cover county bills.

Members congratulated the North Bullitt football team on its state championship. A swearing-in ceremony for the new court is set for December 17 at 11 a.m. at the fairgrounds. The court then went into executive session.
