Bullitt County Fiscal Court
Meeting of October 20, 2026
Bullitt County Fiscal Court 10.20.2026
Summary
The Bullet County Fiscal Court met on October 20, 2026. It approved routine business: the October 6 minutes, the treasurer's transfer report, all bills, and the August treasurer's report.
The court recognized an EMS crew that saved a man choking on a foreign object on October 6, and accepted a $5,000 donation from the VFW post to the Sheriff's DARE program. A resident asked for the speed limit near Burnheim Forest to be lowered from 45 to 35. The judge said a resolution was already sent to the state, which usually takes 6 to 8 months for traffic studies.
The court passed second readings of two zoning changes. One was from agricultural to R1 residential at 350 Sunview Court, and the other from B1 highway business to R3 residential at 329 Velva Drive (Fontana Enterprises). A magistrate asked to table phase two of the Ridgeway Memorial Building renovation until January. Her motion got no second, so no action was taken. The court will invite the contractor, Prodigy, back for an update on phase one and a phase two estimate. A resolution about running a septic line under a FEMA-leased lot was set aside so the applicant can come in with detailed plans.
The court reappointed a member to the regional water council advisory board and approved surplus items from the sheriff's office and the clerk's office. It allowed the sheriff to build a soft interview room in the special operations building on Saltwell Drive, and approved a replacement leased van for the animal shelter. Two new EMS hires were approved at $19.50 an hour, and the meeting adjourned.
