Bullitt County Fiscal Court 07 05 2022
Summary
The Bullitt County Fiscal Court met on July 5, 2022 and approved the bills and the minutes from the June 21 and June 29 meetings. All votes shown in the transcript were carried.
The court held first readings and public hearings on three rezoning ordinances: 2210 (Kentucky Specialty Caterers, Ridge Road, agricultural to R1), 2211 (Clifford and Juanita Shepard, Mount Eden Road, agricultural to R1) and 2212 (Nell Hall Trustees, Halls Lane, stream reserve to R1). Nobody spoke for or against any of them. Second readings and votes are set for July 19.
The court made three board appointments: Russell Price to the planning commission, Dave Jurgens to the Southeast Fire Protection Board, and Brian Vogel to the Zoneton Fire Protection District board. It also approved surplusing nonfunctioning credit card machines at animal control and hired Allison Thomas as chief code enforcement inspector at $55,000 a year plus a vehicle.
The court accepted the Sheriff's Office 2021 tax settlement, which showed about $99 million collected, with just over $7 million going to the county. It also accepted the salt bid from Magic Salt and the Osage bid for two ambulances, to be paid with ARPA funds, and approved a payroll software contract with Guidepost. EMS hires were approved.
The chief deputy at the detention center reported about 300 inmates, a state per diem increase, new cameras to be paid from the commissary fund, and staffing and retention challenges. The court then adjourned.
