Bullitt County Fiscal Court
Meeting of April 16, 2024
Bullitt County Fiscal Court 04.16.2024
Summary
The Bullitt County Fiscal Court met on April 16, 2024. It opened with routine business: the treasurer's transfer report, bills, treasurer's report and the April 2 minutes were all approved.
The court agreed to an interlocal agreement with Bullitt County Public Schools. The road department will help pave gravel traffic lanes at North Bullitt High School and Lebanon Junction Elementary, and the school district will pay for all materials. Emergency management staff reported on FEMA reimbursement for the March 2024 windstorm, about $225,500 countywide, with checks going to the fire departments. They also gave a department update that included about $499,000 in grants over four years. Jenny Manis presented on the Turnaround Resource Center and its planned 90-day transitional housing program, the Turnaround Inn.
The court passed second readings of four rezoning ordinances (243, 244, 245 and 246). Three change land from agricultural to conservation, and one changes it to R1 residential.
The court also approved appointments to the Board of Assessment Appeals and a reappointment tied to the Southeast fire department. It accepted a sheriff's surplus list and allowed poll workers to be paid for the special election and the May primary. It approved the sheriff's settlement of the 2022 limestone, sand and gravel mineral tax bills, which was described as over a quarter million dollars in funding. A new full-time EMT hire was approved, and the meeting adjourned at 10:25.
