Bullitt County Fiscal Court
Meeting of March 17, 2026
Bullitt County Fiscal Court 03.17.2026
Summary
The Bullitt County Fiscal Court met on March 17, 2026. It opened with routine business: minutes from March 3, the treasurer's transfer report, bills and the treasurer's report were all approved.
The court recognized Nichols Fire Department and county EMS crews for a February 8 save of an unresponsive man. It also heard updates from the Soil Conservation District, the Special Operations rescue team (boats, rafts, trench and rope equipment bought with county funding) and the Parks and Recreation advisory committee, which asked for an additional $50,000 in the budget and plans to focus first on Nichols and Lebanon Junction.
The court approved about $780,000 for Prodigy to renovate the donated Ridgeway library so the County Clerk's office gets more space, paid in milestone draws. It also passed a zoning change on Armstrong Lane (agricultural/R1 to agricultural), surplused Sheriff's Office items, and supported a grant application that would cover $90,000 of the $245,302 cost of 50 new tasers.
The court asked the state to lower the speed limit on Highway 44 to 45 mph in Shepherdsville and accepted road department fuel, asphalt (Mago) and rock bids. It hired part-time and full-time EMTs and promoted Lindsey Brown to EMS training director. A motion was passed to recommend that planning and zoning regulations require traffic and drainage studies for developments affecting state roads. The meeting adjourned at 10:40.

time Mike Wright uh distinguished service member of multiple fire departments if you would come up, please. — Thank you, Mr. Wright. — In Bulloch County, we talk a lot about seconds counting. On February 8th, 2026, members of Nichols Fire Department and Bulloch County EMS made seconds count. When the call came in for an unresponsive male, Nichols Fire Engine 43 responded and was on scene in just over 3 minutes. Alongside working with them was Chief Robinson, Deputy Chief Wood, and our Bulloch County EMS teams, and a battle of life began. These men and women performed at the highest level of clinical excellence, administering medications, managing an airway, and successfully restoring a pulse multiple times in the field. Today, the patient is alive. He is with his family, and the hospital staff and the chaplain of East Georgia South have called this a miracle, and credited the fast response of these individuals making this possible. On behalf of Judge Summers and the physical court, it is my honor to
