Bullitt County Fiscal Court
Meeting of April 2, 2024
Bullitt County Fiscal Court 04.02.2024
Summary
The Bullitt County Fiscal Court met on April 2, 2024. It handled routine business first: the treasurer's transfer report, the bills, and the March 19 minutes were all approved.
Four rezoning ordinances (243 to 246) received first reading and public hearing. They cover properties on Martin Hill Road, Jackson Hill Road (two related parcels that will be joined by a minor plat) and Cromwell Lane. The planning commission recommended approval of each. No one spoke for or against any of them, and second reading is set for April 16.
The court approved spending about $277,400 to add a sixth radio lane to the dispatch system. The aim is to reduce busy signals on 911 calls. It also accepted Corvus Janitorial's bid for courthouse cleaning, approved an extra $582.14 for the sheriff's department roof repair on Saltwell Road (total $50,582.14), and renewed the Commonwealth Attorney's office lease for 2025 at what sounds like $21,900.
The court approved hiring three EMS staff, promoted Deborah Thompson to full-time supervisor at $23.50 an hour, and hired a part-time animal control kennel attendant at $14.25 an hour. The Judge/Executive closed by thanking local legislators and UofL Health for state funding toward a new Brown Cancer Center at the south campus in Hillview. The meeting adjourned at 10:10 am.
