Bullitt County Fiscal Court
Meeting of January 4, 2022
01 04 2022 Bullitt County Fiscal Court
Summary
The Bullitt County Fiscal Court met on January 4, 2022. It approved routine items: the treasurer's transfer report, the bills, and the December 16, 2021 minutes.
EMA Director Justin gave a presentation on his deployment to western Kentucky after the December tornadoes. He helped Marshall County with planning and reimbursement paperwork. The Sheriff said deputies are also serving in Marshall County, and the county is tracking expenses for FEMA reimbursement.
The court held first readings and public hearings on two rezonings: a portion of Jarvis Lane from heavy industrial to R1 residential, and a portion of Applegate Run from agricultural to R1 residential. No one spoke against either. It gave second reading and approval to a zoning ordinance for Jordan Reid and Shannon Williams (agricultural conservation, 104 acres on Sanders Lane).
The court approved the Sheriff's 2022 general term order, which authorizes spending for deputy salaries, office expenses and equipment. It also appointed Sheryl Somerville to the water advisory board for a term ending December 31, 2024.
A jail consultant, retired jailer Matt Mutter, described training under way at the detention center. The jailer discussed staffing and vehicle needs. The judge noted a busy year ahead with water projects, a one-gig fiber RFP, and the county becoming debt-free in May. The meeting then adjourned.
