Bullitt County Fiscal Court
Meeting of November 7, 2023
Bullitt County Fiscal Court 11.07.2023
Summary
The Bullitt County Fiscal Court met on Election Day, November 7, 2023. Magistrates first voted to appoint a chair for the meeting, and the chair opened with remarks about the recent loss of his father and uncle.
Bullitt County EMS reported on a trial of Axon body cameras. During the trial, 14 loaned cameras produced 673 recordings in six weeks, and EMS said they helped resolve complaints and aid training. EMS asked to lease 80 more cameras on a five-year plan, which would bring the total to 95. The court raised concerns about cost, sharing cameras, and docking time. Because the contract exceeds the bid threshold, it must be advertised for bids. The court agreed to have quotes prepared for a 40-camera and an 80-camera option and to take up advertising for bids at a later meeting.
The court gave second reading and approved zoning changes, including Armstrong Lane (R2 to B1), Light Lane and Weavers Run Road (agricultural to R1). Four more zoning requests had first readings and public hearings, with no opposition voiced: Gaddy Irrevocable Trust, Gentry Family, Linda Gentry, and Janet Jenkins. Votes on these are expected at the November 21 meeting.
The court approved renaming an unnamed road to Commonwealth Drive, which affects mail and 911 addressing only, not road ownership or maintenance. It also approved payroll checks for poll workers working that day. It adopted the county reapportionment ordinance (2338) on second reading, redrawing magisterial district lines. It surplused a nonfunctioning HP printer from the judicial center and then adjourned.
