Summary

The Bullitt County Fiscal Court met on September 20, 2022. It approved the treasurer's transfer report, the bills, the treasurer's report and the minutes of the September 2 special meeting and September 6 regular meeting.

The court heard an update on the extension district tax rate. The property tax rate is staying the same and the personal property rate is going down. The court agreed to take no action to disapprove it.

The court gave second reading to three zoning ordinances: 2219 (a change from conservation to industrial), 2220 (the Estate of Clarence Shepard and Linda Cole) and 2221 (Keith and Sherry Hunt, agricultural to single-family residential). All three passed.

The court adopted resolution 2213 to let county employees take part in the Kentucky deferred compensation program. It also appointed Gary Frye to the Southeast fire protection district board and Susie Alpine to the Mount Washington fire protection district board. It approved hiring a part-time paramedic at $25 an hour.

During public comment, residents raised long-running flooding and drainage problems on Crumbacker, Minnie Lane and Xenia. The court said it had looked at the issue with its engineering firm and invited them to schedule a meeting. Another resident asked about warehouse vaccine rules and semi trucks parking at expressway ramps. The court then went into executive session to discuss land.
