Summary

The Bullitt County Fiscal Court met January 17, 2023, and approved all routine business: treasurer's transfer report, bills, treasurer's report, and the January 3 minutes.

The court heard a CDBG closeout hearing for COVID utility assistance. Only about $2,500 of the $200,000 grant was spent, and the remaining funds are no longer available. The County Clerk previewed 2023 election plans: early voting at public libraries and the Paroquet Springs center, and election-day voting at seven schools. He warned the county will need to buy new electronic poll books, with state reimbursement expected, and may seek more equipment. Mark 12 Ministry and the Nichols Fire District presented funding and partnership requests, including a new fire truck.

Magistrates approved Zoning Ordinance 2301 (a rezoning from agricultural to conservation on Collins Hill Road) and Resolution 2301 on grading public roads. They also approved a new jail health care services agreement, two animal care hires, and adjournment.

In closing comments, magistrates raised the Bogard Road traffic light, drainage and flooding concerns tied to development, and a possible night meeting. The judge invited the public to the hospital topping-out event on Wednesday.
