Summary

The Bullitt County Fiscal Court met on September 6, 2022. After an invocation and the Pledge of Allegiance, the court approved the treasury transfer report, bills, and the minutes of the August 2 and August 16 meetings.

Rogers Group presented a check for about $39,600 raised at its sporting clay shoot for local first responders. The library board presented its tax rate. It chose the compensating rate, which lowers the real property rate to 60 cents per $100 and the personal property rate to about 60.4 cents. The new central library opens September 17.

The court held first readings and public hearings on three rezonings: a Jim Beam Brands tract on Samuels Farm Lane from conservation to light industrial, a Shepherd estate tract on Highway 44 West for an RV park and tiny-home community, and a 7-acre Collings Hill Road tract to be split into residential lots. Second readings are set for late September.

The court also reviewed a dispatch battery backup (UPS) replacement project of about $70,282 in three parts. It approved a contract clarification on acreage for a land transfer, a speed limit reduction on Highway 61 from 55 to 45 mph, surplus items, and the Humana health insurance renewal. It also approved the solid waste management plan resolution.

The mayor of Mount Washington praised the road department's paving work. A resident asked for an updated comprehensive plan. Election officials described vote center plans for the November election.

property rate to 6.0 cents per 100 of property value and increases our personal property tax rate to 6.04 cents per 100 of property value so the good news is because we have an increase in the assessed property in the county this year as you all probably have heard from multiple presentations we're able to decrease the rate this year so basically in a nutshell we've gone down from 6.2 cents per 100 to 6 cents in real property and in terms of personal property we've taken a decrease from 8 8.96 cents to 6.04 the motor vehicle stays the same it's about one cent below the state average so we're happy to say with the revenue that we have we've been able to do a lot of great things during this past fiscal year which includes completing the construction process of the new Central Library so we invite everyone here to our grand opening ceremony which will be September 17th at
