Bullitt County Fiscal Court
Meeting of March 15, 2022
Bullitt County Fiscal Court 03 15 2022
Summary
The Fiscal Court met March 15, 2022. It approved routine financial items: the treasurer's transfer report, the bills, and the March 1 minutes with a correction. Sheriff Shuler introduced Deputy Cody McCubbin, who recently graduated from the police academy and won the coordinator's award.
The court voted to have Windstream present its fiber optic proposal on April 5 or April 19. Windstream was the only bidder on the RFP for fiber service in Solitude, Mount Washington, Cedar Grove and Zoneton. The court also agreed to partner with the City of Mount Washington to split the cost of a traffic light at Bogart Lane and Highway 44.
The court approved hiring for EMS (four full-time EMTs and two advanced EMTs) and a part-time kennel attendant. It also approved surplusing a dispatch printer, the old courtroom television and several road department vehicles.
Public comment ran long. Residents raised drainage and flooding from warehouse development, a proposed warehouse on KY 245 near Bernheim, dangerous traffic at the Bernheim school intersection, and audit findings on employee timesheets. Officials said the property is in Shepherdsville city limits and outside the court's control. They said state work to widen 245 is expected to start in 2023, and the Sheriff said he lacks deputies for traffic duty but will look at using reserve deputies. The meeting closed with remarks honoring K9 Dash and a motion to go into executive session to discuss land.
