Bullitt County Fiscal Court
Meeting of September 17, 2024
Bullitt County Fiscal Court 09.17.2024
Summary
The Fiscal Court met on September 17, 2024. It approved the minutes, the treasurer's transfer report, all bills and the treasurer's report.
Guest presentations covered several topics. Energized Kentucky asked the court to take up an energy project assessment district ordinance and its interlocal agreement, with the target of October 1. A resident raised concerns about wording in the dog ordinance on agricultural zoning and restraint. MSD gave an update on the sewer system it took over in 2020, including capital projects, plant eliminations, funding requests and rate assistance programs. The public library reported its annual statistics and announced lower tax rates.
The court accepted the library's lowered tax rates, approved paying for a used bucket truck for EMA, road and parks use, and hired a part-time road department worker at $26 an hour. Magistrates discussed part-time versus full-time pay and benefit waivers, and agreed to study consistency in pay classifications later.
The court held first reading and public hearing on a rezoning of 2 acres on Deatsville Road from agricultural to R1, with second reading set for October 1. No one spoke for or against it. It also accepted the Ridgeway library deed, approved a contract for the pavilion at Nichols Park, surplused planning and zoning equipment and approved hiring a full-time planner at $50,000 a year. The court then adjourned.
