Bullitt County Fiscal Court
Meeting of April 20, 2021
Bullitt County Fiscal Court 04 20 2021
Summary
The Bullitt County Fiscal Court met April 20, 2021. Routine business passed first: the treasurer's transfer report, all bills, the treasurer's report and the April 6 minutes.
The court heard from Jenny of the Turnaround Resource Center in Lebanon Junction, a food and assistance nonprofit that asked for county financial support, and from Bill Harned of the Conservation District, who presented its budget. The judge and magistrates said they would follow up with the Turnaround Center.
Magistrates gave second-reading approval to two zoning changes for Merle and Deanna Hansen's property on South Sanders Lane. One changes conservation to agricultural and the other changes conservation to R1 residential. They also approved the Morton salt bid, the county road aid program resolution and contract, and a resolution to apply for a CDBG utility-relief grant. A related agreement with Multipurpose Community Services (the court's partner on utility relief) was also approved. The grant is capped at $200,000, and the county is not exposed to cost overruns.
The jailer's budget and the 2021-22 county budget were presented for review, with votes expected in May. Inmate litter-abatement work along roads is returning. Trisha Moats pressed the court about the Maryville pool, and the judge said the county is gathering repair costs and will meet with the mayors of Hillview and Pioneer Village. County Attorney John Woolridge will retire April 30 and a replacement will be appointed in May. The court adjourned at 10:33.
