Bullitt County Fiscal Court
Meeting of January 6, 2026
Bullitt County Fiscal Court 01.06.2026
Summary
The Bullitt County Fiscal Court held its first meeting of 2026 on January 6. Routine business passed first: the December 16 minutes, the treasurer's transfer report, and all bills.
The court heard from residents about several zoning requests. A motion to let Stout Brothers Farm withdraw its rezoning request (agricultural to conservation on Deerwood Drive and Ethridge Lane) failed 3-2, so that case went ahead. Deerwood neighbors complained that heavy construction equipment is using their narrow road, which has an 18-ton limit, instead of a separate construction entrance. The planning commission had recommended denial. First readings were held for four rezonings: RDH Properties/Indian Oaks (R1 to R3, 48 patio homes on Highway 44 East), Intertech Mechanical Services (R2 to agricultural), Stout Brothers Farm, and Jonathan Ray Richardson (agricultural to R1 on Ridge Road). Second readings are set for January 20.
The court approved a memorandum of agreement with the Division of Waste Management for the Collins Hill force main project, reimbursing the county for its tap fee to the City of Shepherdsville. It also made appointments: Courtney Burton to the Economic Development Authority (term to 2030) and Cheryl Day to the Water Advisory Board (term to 12/31/2028).
The court approved buying a 2026 Ford F250 for the detention center's litter abatement program, paid from the commissary fund at no cost to taxpayers. It also approved adding an F150 to the county's Enterprise fleet lease for solid waste and parks. Thomas Weisert was hired for parks at $43,680 a year, and an EMS promotion for Julian Davis was approved at $21.50 an hour. The judge noted state and federal funding efforts and warned the court must spend carefully this budget year. The meeting adjourned at 10:40.
