Summary

The Bullitt County Fiscal Court met March 4, 2025, and handled routine business first: minutes, the treasurer's transfer report and bills were all approved.

The court held first readings and public hearings on two ordinances. Ordinance 25-9 would rezone about 2.27 acres at 116 Cabin Creek Drive from residential to light industrial so Guardian Retention Systems can store products there; the planning commission recommended approval and no one spoke against it. Ordinance 25-10 would adopt the county's updated comprehensive plan goals and objectives, including a development area and a Fort Knox noise-compatible use area. Both are set for second reading on March 18.

The court approved the Board of Health tax rate, held at 24 cents. It also approved a road department policy for repairing tile and gravel easements damaged by disasters, so the county can seek FEMA reimbursement. It accepted a 40-foot right-of-way on Kinder Lane.

The court approved several hires: two full-time EMTs, a full-time inventory control clerk (with one magistrate voting no), and a part-time recycling attendant. Magistrates also discussed a possible parks and recreation advisory board and a state bill on coroner salaries. The court then went into executive session and returned to regular session around 7:39 pm before adjourning.
