Bullitt County Fiscal Court
Meeting of October 3, 2023
Bullitt County Fiscal Court 10.03.2023
Summary
The court approved routine business, including the treasurer's transfer report, bills (with an added second draw on a $600,000 project), and the minutes from the September 5 regular and special meetings and the September 19 meeting.
KYTC District 5 presented the rural secondary paving program for Bullitt County. The state recommended repaving KY 1494 (Beach Grove Road) and KY 2724 (Horse Fly Hollow Road). The court concurred by resolution, and members asked about Kings Church Road and Greenbrier Road. The court also adopted a resolution and approved an agreement with the state to resurface Pine Tavern Road with county funds.
The Red Cross promoted the county-wide blood drive on Friday, October 13 and a new schedule of drives every two months. County Attorney Tammy Baker and new mental health court director Will Dufton presented the new Bullitt County Mental Health Court, which the court has already funded. It will not need additional county money, and treatment costs are not billed to the county.
The court held first readings and public hearings on three rezonings (Armstrong Lane, Light Lane, Weavers Run Road) and three planning text amendments covering fees, industrial landscaping and the 245 tourism overlay. Second readings are set for October 17. A vote on the administrative code is also expected October 17.
The court appointed Craig Kenlo to the tourism board, surplused a road department box trailer, and hired paramedic Cody Woodall at $27 an hour. A magistrate asked for the health department or another agency to present on benefits and assistance programs ahead of winter. The meeting ended around 10:52.

rural secondary Paving program uh the uh is a rural secondary roads for our our smaller Farm tomarket roads uh it's a smaller system of Roads uh and uh the uh regul say that we're supposed to conc or get concurrence from the the local courts on what roads we uh resurface in our program every year and that makes sense because uh Farm to Market roads are uh basically roads that uh get people from local areas to uh to bigger roads and and cities and so it makes sense to get that type of concurrence so um uh we do this every year and uh I what I usually like to do is give you a little update on H how we fared last year um and so last year it was our intention to uh to pave Kentucky 2723 which is a Rayman Road uh we were to pave 2.83 miles of that road and also do some uh guard rail installation and also replace three significant uh box covers and uh the uh majority of that work was done and uh we're doing some finish up work but it's happy to report that we're pretty much done with that uh so um that
