Bullitt County Fiscal Court
Meeting of June 1, 2021
Bullitt County Fiscal Court 06.01.2021
Summary
The Bullitt County Fiscal Court met on June 1, 2021, opening with a prayer and the pledge. The court approved the treasurer's transfer report, all bills, and the May 18 minutes.
The court held the first reading and public hearing of Zone Ordinance 2111, which would rezone about 18.4 acres at 1854 Priority Valley Road from light industrial to agricultural. The land is next to the old landfill. The planning commission recommended approval, and no one spoke for or against. The second reading and vote are set for June 15.
The court discussed the updated administrative code and personnel policies. One magistrate wanted to go into executive session to review the handbook. The county attorney advised that general policy discussion must happen in open court. The court agreed to hold a special meeting on June 15 to go through the employee handbook. The court then approved a new attendance policy that uses a point system, and heard a presentation on a countywide safety handbook that is still being developed.
The court approved the Board of Health tax rate resolution for 2021 and made several board appointments: library board trustees and Board of Adjustments members. It also approved hiring a temporary part-time custodian for the judicial center. Closing comments included a car cruise at Mount Washington to benefit Crusade for Children and congratulations to the new county attorney.
