Daviess County Fiscal Court
Meeting of March 21, 2024
Daviess County Fiscal Court Meeting March 21, 2024
Summary
The Daviess County Fiscal Court approved a full slate of routine business at its March 21, 2024 meeting. It began the process of discontinuing part of a county road (Fen/Fullen Rder Road in the captions), approved payment to the viewers who inspected it, and fixed a salary schedule error.
The court approved contracts for detention center food services and a payroll and HR system. It paid a commissioner's annual training incentive and adopted Budget Amendment Number One on second reading. The amendment reflects three grants: a Masonville fire department generator, county fire hydrants, and a detention center video arraignment project.
The court approved a Pups in the Park dock-diving event at Panther Park this fall and a utility easement for the Wind Crest Drive area. It awarded bids for an Indian Hill Road aluminum box culvert bridge, a detention center digital phone system, and landfill mowing. It also reappointed a parks board member and appointed a member to the board of adjustments.
The first reading of the road discontinuance ordinance took place with no vote. Two residents spoke in public comment about the public library board vacancy and the library book challenges. They asked why candidates submitted for the board had not been approved. The judge said he had asked the state library agency for application forms and resumes. A zoning appeal on a Wartrace/Worthington Road rezoning will be heard at the next meeting.
