Summary

The Daviess County Fiscal Court met July 12, 2022. It opened with a proclamation naming July 19-23 Dust Bowl Basketball Tournament Week, ahead of the 49th annual tournament at Kendall Perkins Park. Kids Day is Wednesday, July 20.

The court approved the June 30 minutes, all claims, and budget transfers. The transfers include $2 million to the road fund and a final $400,000 payment toward the convention center bond. It also approved the FY2023 salary schedule with clarifying footnotes. The salaries themselves did not change.

The court approved an agreement with Owensboro Community and Technical College for a backup emergency operations center at no cost. It also approved a contract with Weaver Consultants Group for liner inspection at the new landfill cell, a renewed lease with Hurricane Marina LLC, and a roughly $2,500 archaeological survey by Western Kentucky University. The survey is required by the state before the Jack Hinton Road water line can be replaced.

The court reappointed Nick Hetman to the Owensboro Health board and approved several landfill and animal control promotions and replacement hires. Commissioners then announced the spay/neuter clinic open house on Thursday, July 14 at 11 am, and said the new public safety radio system should be online within a couple of months. The meeting then adjourned.

are you going to step up there and talk to us about that at least that's what your boss said you were going to do true true um john class deputy director um the emergency operations center currently resides over on allen street in our office and in the event that we should have to vacate that office for whatever purpose or reason we need a secondary location in the county to do that working with dr williams and the crew out at the main campus of the community college we figured out that seismically that's the safest place in the county to be so they were gracious enough to give us a room that we can occupy out there it'll be a turnkey operation it's a computer lab that's already established so really all we need to do is sign the agreement between the the two agencies and we should be able to move straight in and and be up and functional by friday commissioners questions comments yes sir i have a question i'm going to misunderstood are you actually moving that out there to that facility no sir this is a secondary backup site it's emergency secondary operation any other questions comments
