Summary

The Daviess County Fiscal Court held a short special meeting on June 30, 2022, with Commissioner Wathen absent. The court approved the minutes of the June 16 meeting and all claims for all departments.

The court also approved the third and final round of fiscal-year-end budget transfers: $76,900 in the general fund, $2,000 in the road fund, $18,600 in the jail fund and $800 in the solid waste fund. These transfers do not increase the budget. They move money between funds to true up the books before the fiscal year ends June 30.

No other business was raised and no one spoke during public comment. In commissioner comments, members noted that the final tower for the county's roughly $6.5 million public safety communications system was set on Hobbs Road. They hope the system will be operating by August or September, with an updated timeline expected mid-July. Commissioners also wished residents a safe Fourth of July, asked people to be considerate with fireworks, remembered the late Ernie Davis, and thanked retiring staff member Keith Lawrence. The court then adjourned.
