Daviess County Fiscal Court Meeting November 15, 2022
Summary
The Daviess County Fiscal Court met on November 15, 2022, and moved through a mostly routine agenda. It proclaimed Nurse Practitioners Week, heard the October treasurer's report (about $63.9 million in cash, with the general fund at about $22.7 million), and approved the minutes and claims.
The court approved an administrative services agreement with Green River Area Development District (the transcript says 'grant') for a water line project on Jack Hinton Road, serving the East Daviess County Water Association. It also awarded a quote of about $11,641 to Glasscock Equipment for a tree saw attachment for the road department's mini excavator. A batch of annual bids and renewals was approved too, covering asphalt, elevator maintenance, property maintenance, a surplus screen sale, mosquito control and roadside mowing.
Treasurer Jim Hendricks' resignation, effective December 31, 2022, was accepted after 15 years of service. He will stay on part-time to help with the transition. Jordan Johnson was appointed as the new county treasurer.
The court held a first reading of a rezoning ordinance for 6841 Highway 144, appealed from a planning commission decision. No vote was taken. The second reading is set for December 1.
The judge-executive proposed, without objection, preparing papers to transfer the Confederate statue now at the potter's field to the Owensboro Museum of Science and History. No objection was heard. The meeting then adjourned.

of the Arca funds that came through and this fund is for the uh for jackhamton road which is for the East Davis County Water District Senate Bill 36 money right yes Grant is the administrator so this is the administrative contract for that uh I think this is about a million 1.4 million is where the bid came in uh it's pretty cool we're going to run water from starting at I think at uh Kentucky 54 all the way out jacking Road this is the one that we had to wait for an architect to come in and tell us that there were no artifacts along the road even though the road's been in existence for 125 150 years and we've added water lines and electric lines and poles up and down the road anyway uh the reason that we're doing this and Grant is doing it is that this is for the East Davis County Water Association East Davis County Water Association uh does not have a the ability to take funds from the Kentucky Kentucky

solicitation I would recommend approval Mark so what does this do you know I think he looked at two or three different things where you could actually get to pair of big scissors and chop it chop them down to the ground but this is actually a saw yeah currently we use uh for roadside vegetation we use our overall mower which uh basically chips up the vegetation uh doesn't go so well with the alongside the bed the green belt some roadside environments residential areas places like that so this is more of a salt where it'll cut the branches off and we can remove them it'll leave a good cuts on the trees we should be able to clean up a lot easier so it goes on a mini excavator it's not not on a front end loader yeah it's not that type of a attachment nope okay questions or comments questions or comments from the public they're being in all in favor signifies saying aye aye opposed motion carries next item e award the following bids number 22 23-28 autumnus hot mix and pavement Milling number 22 23-29 elevator maintenance services
