community and we ask that uh as this meeting uh transpires here tonight that you just guide and direct each one that uh all the decisions might glorify you and use all the resources that we have uh to do do what's right instead of what's popular and father help us to give you all the glory for all that you do for us daily and all that you do for our community in Jesus precious name we pray amen amen amen thank you I pledge aliance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands one nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all all right call meeting to order first thing on the agenda is approve the minutes from the previous meeting motion by Neil and second by Brenda all in favor any opposed next we have approved payment of bills motion motion by Brian second second by Ben all in favor any opposed next we have approved treasurer's budget transferred

as presented motion motion by Brenda second by Jason all in favor any opposed next we have approve treasurer's monthly settlement I motion motion by Neil second second by Brian all in favor be any opposed next we have approved treasurer's quarterly financial statement motion motion by Ben second by Brenda all in favor any opposed next we have approved jailers payment of bills motion motion by Brian second by Jason all in favor is there any opposed next we have approved resolution of jail arraignment equipment phase two Jason you uh we had already done the first phase of that so basically what we did was um it's a reimbursement Grant from DG so we PID it up front and they reimburse us but they're um supplying they're using Federal grant money to supply every jail in the state with video con conferencing equipment and the second phase of it is the software purchase so we've made the

of that is from the salaries of those so now 2024 we have we're going to fill those positions so we need that for the payroll for the additional employee well not for the additional for the ones we lost in 2023 so that's most of that so basically he didn't fulfill his 2023 budget so that's and with that money we're still under even with that money back we're still under our initial budget so we're still coming under budget any questions anybody motion motion motion by Neil second second by Brian all in favor I all right next we need to approve the sheriff's fourth quarter budget motion motion by Ben second by Brenda all in favor any opposed and next we have new business uh Norman you want to do what you need to do yes I know uh last Fiscal Court meeting I announced that uh Deputy Shan tress um was selected by his peers and supervisors as Deputy of the year and I want to formally present uh Deputy f with uh this plot this award um I'll show it to you all then I'll turn around

show it to come on up here Sean um it says Grace County Sheriff's Office to to all whom these presents shall come be it known the deputy Sean contess has been awarded the deputy of the year for outstanding performance of Duty for 2023 as selected by your peers and supervisors your integrity and dedication to the citizens of Grayson County reflects great credit upon yourself your family and the entire law enforcement profession so I want to personally thank uh Shan for his dedication he has our K9 he's done an outstanding job of got to admit I was a little worried to begin with um because the dog seem to be smarter than no I'm just kidding I wasn't sure who was training who but Sean has done an outstanding job with Zeus uh Zeus continues to and Shan continue to remove some of the drugs that infest our community gets them off the street and um I'm greatly appreciative for that and I just want to formally present Sean with the uh 2023 uh Deputy of the Year award congratulations Sean you need to look at you to thank you Sean we appreciate it thank you and shut my door too Sean you got

anything else under new business or anything on good thank you good Jason news all right you're all up all right well I'm Jenny from the grayon county health department and this is Deana and we are both um Health Educators with the health department basically we work to um connect families in our community with the resources that they need uh we do a lot of grant writing and also just to try to just educate the community on just different health related topics so uh what I'm here to talk to you all tonight about is a program called cribs for kids um some of you may remember this um I came uh here in June of 2001 and talked to you all a little bit about this program but I know there's some new faces I'm just going to kind of give you an overview uh criis for kids is a program through the state where we provide families who otherwise could not afford them safe sleep spaces for their little ones uh Kentucky has a higher than na the national average as far as seid cases

and that sudden unexplained infant death and when we look at trying to prevent seid cases in our County one of the big factors is that babies need their own safe sleep space um the thing is sleep close together um in the same room but not in the same bed so a lot of families it just kind of creates a hardship for them to be able to buy a safe sleep space whether that's a crib or a pack and player or whatever so cribs for kids is a program that we partner with where we actually provide those for free to families in the community um it is a matching program through the state so that means for every dollar that we raise from Community Partners um the state matches those funds so if we get a check for $100 that's what it cost to buy a it's called a safe sleep survival kit it comes with a pack and play a sleep sack um a pacifier um and just safe sleep education um for every one of those that we're able to buy the state matches those funds and we can buy two um so when we were here in June of 2021 you all were so generous uh with just giving us the funds so that we could purchase those we've been able to provide over a
