Meeting of October 15, 2026
Grayson County Fiscal Court Meeting 10.15.2026
Summary
The Grayson County Fiscal Court met and worked through a largely routine agenda, with every motion called for in the transcript moving forward. The meeting opened with a prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.
Magistrates approved the previous minutes, bills, treasurer budget transfers, and the treasurer's monthly and quarterly settlements. They also approved an incentive payment and the second reading of Budget Amendment Number One, which brings economic development money into the county budget.
On roads, the court approved a resolution with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet to apply for a matching grant for partial resurfacing of Post Halsey Road, which has some bad spots. It also approved a resolution for the flex roads the county had submitted. The court accepted a local contractor's low bid of $356,825 (amount as captioned) to replace the bridge on Pleasant View Road, which the state had shut down.
The court also approved the county clerk's claim for preparing tax bills, the Emergency Management Operation Plan, the emergency management bond payment, the sheriff's monthly settlement and the sheriff's third-quarter budget. The jailer's budget transfers and bills were approved too.
Residents are invited to a ribbon cutting for the new EMS office tomorrow at 11:00. The meeting then adjourned.

[music] [music] — Oh, yes, sir. Yes, sir. All right. Uh, for those of you who don't know me, I'm Chris Walker. I pastor Burning Light Church here, uh,
- 1:33
here in Leesville, and I'm just thankful for the opportunity to come before you this evening. So, let us pray. Father, in Jesus' name, Lord, we come to you with the spirit of unity, God. Lord, just as our symbol declares, united we stand, divided we fall. God, I pray that, as a body in this place, God, that they will all speak the same things with no divisions among them. Lord, we thank you that you are a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, but abundantly pardons. So, Father God, I present this body, this governing body to you, Father, and to the word of your grace that is able to build them up and give them an inheritance amongst those that are sanctified. God, we present them to you. And God, I especially thank you, Father, for the first responders. Lord, I pray for protection for them. And Lord, as they come together as they administrations and as their governance of this county, God, I pray that there will be a heart of unity and a good measure of favor amongst them all. And Lord, I pray that you will bless them and keep them and make your

face shine upon them and give them peace. Bless this body, bless our state, bless this county. And God, we thank you for who you are and what you have done in Jesus' name. Amen. — Thank you, Sheriff. — You're welcome. — All right. — I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. — [cough and clears throat] — All right, we'll call the meeting to order. — [clears throat] — First thing on the agenda is approval of minutes from the previous meeting. — Make a motion. — Motion by Neil, second by Brenda.
