Grayson County Fiscal Court Meeting 10.17.2024 · Watch on YouTube ↗

Summary

Grayson County Fiscal Court – October 17, 2024

The court moved through a lengthy consent-style agenda, approving routine county business including minutes, bills, budget transfers, and monthly/quarterly settlements for both the treasurer's office and the jailer's office. The board of health minutes and sheriff's monthly settlement and third-quarter budget were also accepted without discussion.

The court approved this year's batch of wrecker (towing) service record applications, noting that no new companies were added to the rotating list since only existing providers submitted applications by the September deadline. A petition to bring Waterside Drive into the county road maintenance system was approved after confirmation that residents met the required 55% signature threshold and that the road met paving specifications.

A representative from the Twin Lakes Skate Park project gave an update to the court, reporting a roughly $14,000 profit from a recent 'Rock the Park' fundraiser, progress toward selecting a skate park design/construction firm (with packages submitted by companies including Grindline, Hunger, Artisan, and Pillar Design Studios), and ongoing work improving the temporary 'Purple Flash' skate spot behind the old Caneyville school. No formal action was taken on this item; it was an informational presentation.

The court approved payment of additional treasurer's bills and then voted to move into closed session to discuss potential litigation with the county attorney.
