The court also authorized the judge-executive to execute the necessary paperwork and granted the hospital foundation an easement/access route through a sinkhole area near Goodwin Drive.
Under new business, the sheriff thanked Magistrate Brian Ashley for volunteering his time overseeing renovations at the new sheriff's office, work completed without cost to the county. The court then addressed numerous resident complaints about Windstream's poor fiber installation work tearing up yards and roadways, particularly along KY 259 South, after the original contractor reportedly walked off the job. The court authorized the county attorney to explore possible litigation against Windstream.
Finally, magistrates discussed several state road projects residents had asked about: the KY 62 project (expected to resume next month after contractor bankruptcy issues were resolved), ongoing shoulder-widening work on KY 259 South, the Leitchfield Bypass (utility work starting soon, with a state completion estimate of late 2024), and base-failure repairs on the WK Parkway. The meeting closed with a request for prayers for an employee undergoing a medical procedure, followed by a motion to adjourn.
