Meeting of August 17, 2021

thank you for that opportunity we thank you for this group of men and women that are devoted to our County and to the government of our County we pray God guide us to be upon them in fact we pray for that every day that you will direct the government locally statewise and Federal we pray for the strength of our nation and we realize God that we have a lot of things that are in a very difficult time very difficult situation but we pray that you will send us the help that we need to do the things that we need to do we ask you God to guide the minds and the spirits of local government and we will always be thankful to you and appreciate your blessings and all that you do in Jesus name amen amen thank you thank you sir all right I pledge at least to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands one nation under God indivisible with liberty and a justice for all the meeting to order and

first thing on the agenda is to approve the minutes from the previous meeting I'll make that motion by Damon second by uh Tommy uh all in favor any opposed next we have approved the payment of the bills motion motion by Darren second second by Kevin all in favor aye would be any opposed next we have approved treasury budget transfers as presented make a motion motion by Tommy second by Damon all in favor all right be any opposed next we have approved treasurer's monthly settlement make a motion motion by Kevin a second second by Darren all in favor be any opposed next we have accept Grayson County Clerk's audit for December the 31st 2020. motion by Brian second second by Darren all in favor all right would it be any opposed next we have approved jailer's payment of bills make a motion motion by Kevin second by Tommy all in favor aye any opposed next we have approved jailer's monthly settlement motion motion by Darren

second second by Brian all in favor all right any opposed next we have approved jailer's budget transfers as presented and there is none so we will skip eight in this next we have approved Sheriff's monthly settlement make a motion motion by Tommy second by Darren all in favor aye be any opposed next we'll need to approved the sheriff's 2020 property tax settlement motion by Kevin second second by Tommy all in favor aye next we need to approve to set the Grayson counties 2021 tax rate which is 6.7 for the property and 7.9 tangible which would be my recommendation that we do that since it is the compensating rate so we would not be taking the four percent tax rates so we'd keep it basically the same motion motion by Darren second second by Kevin all in favor aye any opposed next we have to accept Grayson County

extension's Office 2021 2022 tax rate which they have also chosen to take the compensating rate which would leave the rate at the compensating rate which is set by the state so need a motion for that and commotional motion by Tommy second by Brian all in favor aye any opposed next we need to approve the 2021-2022 flex Road fund list that you all had given me that you on the roads that you needed to have repaired through the flex Road fund through the state so I need a motion to approve it a second motion by Darren and the second by Tommy and all in favor all right be any opposed and next we have other new business Norman would you have any new business do you have them no no sir no no all right do we have any old business no business I might just uh say this there have been a question uh several people had called

about the dog ordinance they didn't realize that we had already passed that so just for the record and you know for uh people's information that we passed that a few months back so yeah and I also received a complaint uh through email that there's been an incident on Hickory Flats Road and me and you've spoken about that and uh we've given it to Jeremy and I think we're we're already in the I think he actually received it before I did I believe so I think everything's already in the Motions to try to get that resolved and but other than that that's that's about all I know right now any old business no sir oh sure name of the old business that's no old business real quick though Charlie are you happy with your hair yes oh okay I'm sorry I just wanted to make sure I mean so you do have old business then why did you say the first time I'm sorry Norman yeah uh I will say this that uh I feel that I need to mention it that there has been

uh there's quite a few things going on in the county right now um not only the county the state and the nation but uh I feel that I need to address you all to let you know uh um you know we're getting a lot of coded cases still yet that I get from from the health department they they say that they've been testing quite a few people and uh uh that it's it's it's pretty strong in our community so uh Unfortunately they have uh with the high numbers that they've been testing they've ran out of uh test kits and not only the health department but I think fast pace has ran out and some of the other local care providers and I think that they have they have them at Owensboro Health in Owensboro health is put something on their website to to let folks know when they can come through and do drive through so if you have anyone it reaches out to you about testing for for covid that you need to uh you know just refer them to the health department

and they usually stay up on what's going on as far as who's got the test and what's going on and some other things that if if you have a lot of people that's contacted me over some complaints they have with local boards and other organizations I just ask you as a magistrates if you if you have a complaint just refer your constituents to the proper uh organization that they need to talk to about the situation that they're wanting to deal with so unfortunately some of these things is beyond physical courts control which I wish they was but they're they're not at this time so we will uh I just ask you to be sure and direct them to the proper people that they need to be speaking with so if no one has anything else I need a motion to adjourn make a motion motion by Tommy second by Damon all in favor right
