missing three of them might have to share with these if you don't mind let me we mhmk you didn't need to share some extras all right so I appreciate your all's time this evening and letting me have the floor for a few moments uh my name is Dr Jillian Carden I am the executive director of Silver Leaf sexual trauma Recovery Services and I am joined this evening with one of our board members Kathy Schultz I know that she's an important part of your all's Community as well um so tonight I just want to talk a little bit about Silver Leaf what we do and why I'm here requesting some money from one of your funds um for those of you who may not know Silver

Leaf is the regional Rape Crisis and Child Advocacy Center we serve the eight counties of the Lincoln Trail ad District so of course that includes Grayson County all of the services that we offer are free we offer victims of sexual violence an array of services including 24-hour crisis response response to the hospital uh forensic interviewing and forensic Medicals Therapy Services Victim Advocacy in the court system and also prevention and education um tonight I'm here requesting funding from the opioid settlement funds and I'm going to walk you through the packet that I provided that's in front of you don't mind can I share this corner of the disc with you all right so if you open up on your right side of the folder there's going to be a letter at the very front that outlines silver Leaf's request for the funding right behind the letter there's going to be information that I'm going to review briefly obviously you all can

all read um but review briefly about the um co-occurrence and relationship between substance abuse and sexual assault behind that page is going to be a document that identifies why Silver Leaf why we believe that we are eligible for this funding um and then the very last document closest to the back is the actual um mou regarding the opioid settlement funds as it's outlined about who would be eligible so of the oh and then the right side of is is just some additional information for you all your left side my right side so of the opioid settlement funding criteria for distribution only one criteria is required for funding to be received by any particular agency however Silver Leaf meets seven of those criteria um so I want to introduce a little bit about sexual violence and substance abuse in general so what we know
