Meeting of May 4, 2021

[Music] oh our father heaven we thank you for this

day we thank you for the length rain we received this week and that it nourishes the ground for the crops here locally with farmers we thank you for our safety and our security here in this county we ask that you especially be with mike lindsey and his family as he's going through a rough time right now we pray for healing for him if it'd be your will we ask that you continue to bless each one of us in jesus name we pray amen amen i pledge allegiance to the flag of the united states of america and to the republic for which it stands one nation under god indivisible with liberty and justice for all we'll call the meeting to order first thing on the agenda is through the many minutes from the previous meeting i'll make that another motion by damon okay second by brian all in favor next we have approved payment bills motion by neil seconded by tommy all in favor next we have approved proof treasurer's budget transfers as presented

motion by brian second second by darren all in favor next we have accept salt bids from ibg magic of kentuckiana and compass minerals which are two of them that we're accepting emotionally tommy second by damon all in favor all right next we have approved to advertise bid for road materials cleaning and mowing a judicial complex awesome motion by darren second second by kevin all in favor next we have a county road aid and local government economic assistance lg e a hearing we do that every year it just gives the public an opportunity to come and express their wishes on what we use that money for so anyone present to comment on the lgea economic assistance fund no one present motion to accept motion by tommy second second baron all in favor next we have approved jailor's payment of bills i'll make it move motion by next we have approved jailers construction bills which i don't think there is any this month right there is not okay and we don't have any here either so we're good there

uh so we don't need a motion on that approved jailer's budget transfers is presented make a motion uh motion by ken second by brian all in favor next we have approved grayson county sheriff's amended and first quarter budget to make a motion motion by tommy second second by darren all in favor and updates from physical core committees everything's running wide open and yeah summer sports yeah and then roads are wet that's for sure we're my one day lord so yeah i think uh all of mine's going uh on the on the construction side i've got with tommy a couple times we've had a couple issues at the courthouse and i think they've been addressed and i think they've been running a little bit slow but i think tommy called and got some of the the subs lined out and then i have also so uh they are all back on and all of them yeah they're all back on it hvac is basically complete yesterday doing some tie-ins i don't know yeah they're trying they're getting the her four or four or six or whatever

units upstairs to getting their cars lined out so but uh other than that you know it's in pretty good shape uh we've got uh other new business you know jason uh i was looking at dates up here but our jailers conference is uh first full week in june and if any of you guys have the need for hours training hours i think there's 27 or 28 hours at that conference it's in bowling green at the holiday inn conference center classes usually start at 8 and 30 lasts most of the day so if any of you want to go to it feel free to go you can register when you get there and they'll they'll build it to the county first week of june starts on june 7th goes through 10. nothing business there no sir i'm sure right yep i got with the engineer on the road we cut the top online in

about uh let's put tiles in clean up ditches because we're gonna cut the cabling too and the woman that's over there is that i'm cold but they're supposed to call me back yesterday but she didn't so i'm going to probably transfer that number to jeremy if they don't contact me and that is windscreen correct and they also was out hiki's mill road and the same things out there as they do without the blueprints so you all know they went out uh magruder church road and they're very close to the edge of the blacktop and they're plowing cable in and wind stream it doesn't have anything to do with nctc or warren recc it's wind stream it's who it is uh from our understanding i think what they've done is just stepped their game up and it's too late to do it but yeah i mean they they push that riff ramp plumb off the road a car comes bother it's going to shoot you right the deal and and the problem is is this it's not on the right one it's that close to the blacktop and the reason they're doing that is so they don't have to get permission from the property owners to run through their yard which they could anyway because there's actually a utility they're doing they're running a big table and if we go to replace tiles on those roads

it's going to cut that cable and do this nobody's contacted my office or anything and asked us anything about any of it so if we hit something the problem is we're not liable for it they're gonna have to come out and fix everything but the problem is is the the customer and the residents are gonna be out of service yeah you know so that that's the problem but the reason they didn't do that i think they are trying to hurry up instead of going through the motions in the process to go ahead and get people to sign off on you know going through their yard like every other utility company does they're they're going six inches from the edge of the block some of them right right in the middle of the ditch i mean yeah so are they put there somewhere where they don't have service now well what it is they had service but their lives their cable was so small they couldn't pick up an internet okay all right since this new internet's coming they want to try to get that so they're really putting like a little

small substation down there one stream as far as i can turn it as a joke so that's why that's nice but i'm gonna i'm gonna give another negative and me and jeremy don't talk so and i'll transfer him to the engineers though good good neil you got anything you hear me all right uh i just want to say and of course one of y'all's hit on it too normal probably won't say something but if you all need to remember mike flinsey and his family mike was recently i don't know norman when did you come over here last thursday thursday for last and mike used to be a constable here in the county and of course he's got a business here he actually got two businesses but uh mike's been a good good friend to me over the years and we're close to the same age and norman put him on as a special deputy to help out special events and stuff and he was in a bad accident up on 62 and he's not you got an update on him or anything well i mean i talked to the family uh yesterday and he actually you know they they had called the family up i believe at one point and told them to say
