e e to day good afternoon uh again just a quick check of our cell phones make sure that we have those uh turned off all right so we'll go ahead and begin this is is the uh February 25th 2025 Harden County Fiscal Court regular voting meeting let's begin and call this meeting to

order we'll begin with a roll call please Square clam here Squire Hicks here Squire Muse here Squire Pennington Squire Saltzman here Squire Thompson here Squire Whitehead here Squire Yates here judge executive Keith tall here uh next we have our invocation of magistrate Yates in Pledge of Allegiance magistrate Clint let us pray Heavenly Father we come together for this physical Court meeting we seek your guidance and wisdom in our deliberations we pause for the flood victims and their families ask for your comfort and strength for them during this challenging time May they find Hope and support in the days ahead we also lift up lift up our First Responders and military service members who work tirelessly to protect our communities and our freedoms both at home and abroad grant them courage safety and resilience to carry out their vital missions help us to make decisions that reflect compassion understanding and commitment

to serve those in need in your name we pray amen amen I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands one nation under God indivisible liberty and justice for all all right um again thanks again for joining today it's great to see all of you here um review the agenda um a pretty typical agenda today we have approval of the minutes from the last meeting uh some presentations and uh a time for any citizens concerns or comments uh we have one uh second reading of an ordinance that we'll address and then we have the consent agenda and then uh typical comments at the end so that's our agenda and we'll just just move on to the next item which is approving the Harden County Fiscal Court February 11th 2025 minutes is there a motion to

approve so move second everybody Muse and Yates that sounds good okay um any discussion roll call please Squire Clen yes Squire Hicks yes Squire m yes Squire Saltzman yes Squire Thompson yes Squire Whitehead yes Squire Yates yes judge executive Keith tall yes motion passes all right next we'll move to the department and office reports and presentations uh we have first up our coroner Pat Elmore evening judge members of the court and the audience U good evening I have for this evening our yearly report so I thought maybe we could review maybe 20 or 30 cases just kind of go over it real quick there yeah right Corner's office handled 1178 cases last year you'll see 78 accidents five

homicides 1,071 Naturals 18 suicides undetermined um that's still some talks pending and then of course we're pending results one type SE i' be and this kind of a chart it shows you again natural will always we hope it's always kind of our main run of the runs and then of course the accidents would be the second suicide and undetermined this shows our modes of accidents um still U overdoses still most our overdoses as we know are listed as accidents so accidents overdoses would be that then we've got motor vehicle collisions and then drowning and falls and then of course our others all the other accidents we've seen suicide this shows the mo of act we worked 18 suicides last year firearm still continues to be the leading cause of that then aixia then overdose these are the demographics for the overdose or the suicides rather you'll see that ccasian leads that and then you'll see the age that's it bounces this year a couple years ago

remember it was 50 and above and this year it was 30 and above so it kind of bounces around there drug related death we were up five this year for we had 37 last year and we have 42 and of course we're probably going to be at 45 when we get to toxicology back on those other three demographics of the overdoses um Caucasian males um 40 49 seems to be the leading cause as you know and then of course you see to the right hand side that's some of the counties these are cases that come into the hospital or that are travel from outside the county to our facilities uh this one is a kind of want to talk about this one just a little bit these are the most frequent drugs we detect course you see designer opoids methampetamine and anti-depressants then you'll see this chart above here it's got Crum xylazine Bonine and razal lamp those are the designer ones those are the ones that have just shown up in the last year here so uh the next slide will kind of tell you a little bit about those I don't want to get real in depth but uh you know just kind of give you an idea just like the BR masin first synthesized in 1976 but never marketed for therapeutic use that shows you how serious these are some of the ones that I spoke earlier in our presentations back and uh they're

now being checked for the xylazine that again is a medication was and these are again these are the the designer fenals these are the ones that we see that's that we've spoke for in the past um this is a rundown autopsy we were at 28 cremations at 527 we had two County cases this year and we've got probably another one coming up and then the EMS transports were nine and the corner transports were at 162 residental deceased again it kind of follows the demographics of population Elizabeth Town Radcliff and then un Incorporated areas then the ones to the right side those are Incorporated areas um you'll see some of these outed County ones we get Grayson County that seems to be the ones in lar County those are cases that come into the hospital that require Corners investigation so that's and then you'll see out of state California Florida Indiana and Tennessee a lot of those will be either workers that have traveled into our area or Transportation incidents do we have any questions thank You' all very much appreciate everybody thank you thank you next up is uh our sheriff sheriff Ward

and um also I believe Terry Bennett's got some information for us too that ELO is a hard act to follow so y'all bear with me uh good evening U good evening judge uh magistrates clerk county attorney everyone in attendance uh whether in person or electronically Sheriff's Office um activity for law or on the law enforcement side for December and January 215 arrests 180 citations 103 warrants 629 civil Su civil papers 1,84 complaints 843 accidents investigated 19 criminal cases 1,878 other activities 418 school safety checks 70 violation warnings 1,390 attempts to serve and office operations uh 90 records checks were performed 128 concealed carry license issued
