Hardin County Fiscal Court – April 23, 2024
The Fiscal Court approved routine business including the minutes from April 9th and a lengthy consent agenda covering financial reports, personnel changes, and multiple renewal contracts (cybersecurity, Motorola radio services, animal control interlocal agreements, and 911 site maintenance).

The Sheriff reported on arrests, citations, new hires, and notable incidents including a stabbing, an active shooter alert, and a murder case. The County Clerk gave an extensive update on upcoming primary election logistics, absentee and early voting options, and announced the retirement of long-time employee Rosell Nunn.
Magistrates also recognized retiring maintenance technician Gerald 'Mo' Moses for his years of service, and made various community announcements including upcoming committee meetings, a town hall, a 26-mile yard sale, and a legislative breakfast in Vine Grove.
The meeting concluded with no citizen comments and a motion to adjourn.

United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands one nation under God indivisible libery and justice for all all right again thanks for joining today I'll just go ahead as usual and uh do a quick review of the agenda pretty simple agenda today uh we have um the um physical Court minutes from last meeting to approve then we have uh um a speaker today for informational item on our um agenda and then uh we'll have some presentations by various offices uh some written reports won't be presented but they're included in the pocket uh a time for any citizens uh concerns or comments uh we don't have any ordinances or for uh specific resolutions to uh vote on today but we do have the consent agenda which is fairly lengthy and um I'll review that fairly quickly of what's in there and um

agenda was a memorandum of agreement she may have been delayed she's not here judge uh don Blair is here um to kind of be a part of that but not to present and you haven't heard from her have you okay she's almost here so if we could move that I guess further down after the other department reports I would appreciate it okay okay thank you all right thank you thank you all right we'll move on then to some other presentations we'll start with our coroner Pat elore afternoon judge members of the Court members of the audience U we go over our first uh quarter activity for the coroner's office um starting in January uh Corner's office responded to 101 cases U six accidents uh two fils motor vehicle collision and feel like a broken record we go into the overdoses once again it was the fenals we had three of those and 90 three Naturals uh one suicide and one undetermined it was a condition it kind of gives a brief description of that it was a condition that is a fairly odd thing angio adem it took from extended studies to figure out

what happened on that one so we've now since closed that one out for February we had 111 cases uh seven accidents uh anaphylaxis motor vehicle collision followed resulted in a death and then we back into the overdoses one item of information I would like like to bring up is the the very bottom overdose here you'll see it was baton nine um that was a we had a individual that didn't test positive initially on his toxicology we felt like after doing extended studies and just kind of give you a brief overview it's it's something it was the first case we've seen in our office but it was a drug that was basically started in 1957 had never seen any type of production but it showed up and of course you can see it's a thousand times more potent than more fend so it kind of masked some of the same things as fenel and uh heroin and then of course with suicide we had one and an undetermined it resulted as an overdose of meth for March cases um 89 cases worked again the overdoses just kind of play right down through there another drug bazal Lam showed up in this one so there's two different drugs that we've now encountered in the last couple months that were kind of keeping track of uh
