look at that so we'll go ahead and get started today good afternoon everyone just check your cell phones if you don't mind make sure that those are are turned off or down this is the February 11th 2025 Harden County Fiscal Court regular voting meeting let's begin and call this meeting to order we'll start with a roll call Squire Clen Squire Hicks yes here Squire Muse here Squire Penington here Squire Saltzman here Squire Thompson here Squire Whitehead here Squire Yates here judge executive tall here next we'll have our invocation magistrate saltsman and Pledge of Allegiance magistrate Muse byow your heads please father God we thank you for this day that you've given us uh we thank you for this time that we can be here to do the business of the county I pray that you would guide and direct each and every one of us in our decisions I pray that uh you would help us to have an open heart and

and open ears open mind to what it is that you have us to do father I pray for our County pray for all of our roadworkers that are out uh working today uh clearing the roads for us thank you for our EMS thank you for our coroner's office I thank you for our Sheriff's Department all of our First Responders Lord I pray for them and their safety and thank you for uh this time that we can be here again it's in Jesus name we pray amen amen PL Al to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands one nation under God indivisible liy and justice for all all right again thanks for joining us today in these um conditions that we have outside they could have been worse I hear so uh actually pretty fortunate uh that it's turned out as good as it has uh so it's it's really good to see everyone here uh just a quick review of the agenda uh pretty typical agenda today um

we will uh approve the last meeting minutes uh here in a moment uh we do have uh a proclamation today that I'm excited about and we'll we'll have that next then we'll go into some presentations um from various uh departments and um have a time for Citizens concerns or any comments that anyone wants to make uh we have one ordinance to uh read and to uh approve and then we have uh pretty typical consent agenda today I will note that uh in the consent agenda we have the last two items uh resolution 29 and resolution 30 regarding mowing contracts that we're going to pull out of the U that we are pulling out of the consent agenda today just for a quick more review of those and then we'll um uh be able to vote on those at the next meeting um then we have some comments as usual and then adjourn so that's the agenda uh we'll go ahead and proceed through through here um the next item is approval of the Harden County Fiscal

Court January 28th 202 minutes is there a motion to approve so move second moved and seconded any discussion a roll call please Squire clim Squire Hicks yes Squire Muse yes Squire Pennington yes Squire Saltzman yes Squire Thompson yes Squire Whitehead yes Squire Yates yes judge executive tall yes motion passes all right next on our agenda is this Proclamation very excited about it um we have some folks here uh to accept the proclamation and uh I'm going I'm going to read this but before I do this is uh in regards to the brown pey house I think everybody's obviously very familiar with with this and um uh it's especially uh personal to me uh had one of my uh children that that had a wedding there at that uh there and and and then I had

a my uh youngest daughter she had her reception there so um and of course there's been I don't know hundreds of meetings and various different events so um I have only uh positive um and very personal uh feelings about this place and uh and the ones that run it the ones that take care of it and uh make it available to all of us here uh you know here in Harden County so thank you very much for all that you guys do but let me go ahead and read the the proclamation um we'll start through here um says whereas the brown pey house has served a vital part of our community for 200 years built by John W Hill in 1825 is a home for he and his first wife later John Hill and his second wife opened this warm stately home which became a boarding house called The Hill House whereas it was restored and donated to the community in 1923 by Dr William a pey and Dr Alfred Brown pey who wanted to give back to the

Elizabeth Town community they so loved whereas in 1974 it was listed on the national register of historic places and is also a Harden County Historical Site whereas notable visitors have graced this house like the Swedish Nightingale Jenny Lynn who sang in on the front steps General George a kuster and his wife Libby stayed at the boarding house and General John Hunt Morgan of the Confederate Army dined at the house on several occasions whereas the brown pey house has served and serves the community in many ways through the enjoyment of its Museum genealogical library and meeting rooms for various functions that create lasting memories now therefore I Keith El tall judge executive Harden County do hereby Proclaim February 11 2025 as brown pey house day so if y'all don't mind could we get a few pictures okay would y'all mind to join me down
