welcome to the march 8th meeting of hardin county fiscal court i'd remind you this is a voting meeting and if you have cell phones to please turn them off or put them in the vibrate mode and we'll begin with a roll call if you would miss stalin ronnie goodman yeah king here judge barry fear easter here doug goodman william here clan wiseman here thompson here mr easter will lead us with the invocation and mr wiseman with the pledge if you please can please join me in a word of prayer dear heavenly father we thank you for today we thank you for life and the many blessings we're most thankful for your love and your grace around this table we have a lot of concerns and we have a lot of concerns everywhere we lift all those concerns up to you and we pray for ukraine we pray for peace we ask that you be with us today as we conduct conduct the business of this county guide and direct us in the decisions that we make and that we're found faithful at the end of the day be with us now and all the we give you

all the praise and the glory and it's the name of jesus christ i pray amen amen could you please join me in the pledge i pledge allegiance to the life of the united states of america and to the republic for which it stands one nation under god indivisible with liberty and justice let's start off this afternoon a little different than we normally do we have two people in the audience today that i'd like to recognize them i could have them stand and maybe come up to the podium shane carpenter and rodney rogers with the hardin county animal care and control we are very blessed in hardin county to have a number of great people that work forsen county and do great service for us every day occasionally some of those days bring you to the point that you're doing something that's not part of your normal job description and this happened to these two gentlemen a couple of weeks ago and our local news enterprise the local paper recognize them for that and we

want to do the same thing today they were having lunch at one of our local fast food restaurants they normally from what i understand get their lunch and go back to work and eat it at work but for whatever reason that day they chose to dine in something we didn't used to get to do not too long ago but fortunately for one of our residents that they were dining in that day they're both a volunteer fireman they have skills and first aid and emergency response that they put to work that day of noticing that the gentleman was having a difficult time he actually collapsed on the floor from what i understand and they quickly were there to render aid and stuck with him until ems was able to get there and transport him to baptist south hardin from what i understand he's fine and quite frankly you all may have been involved in saving the life if not you are at least involved in providing a lot of care and comfort for him and his wife that was also there on the scene that day so we would like to recognize you publicly for that today and thank you for being good community citizens and the great job that you do for us each and every day and particularly that day i think was february 17th that you uh you rendered that aid so we

appreciate that that deputy judge daniel london has a presentation that he'd like to make to you now at this time in the county that do not have the attitude that's not my job and thank god you certainly didn't have that attitude that day you represent this county greatly we appreciate that and the reflection that you've not only shown yourselves but the county as a whole uh words just can't describe it thank you so much for that on behalf of the judge have small presentations tokens of appreciation for each one of you for what you did thank you thank you we appreciate you deeply [Applause] mike might let you off work five minutes earlier today i don't know [Laughter] all right we're gonna move on to department and office reports first up is the hardin county planning development commission mr adam king good afternoon

good afternoon i've got the january and february reports for 2022. start off with the planning commission so this was a zone change request from the rural residential r2 zone to the agriculture a1 zone suzanne petraska this is out on yates chapel road uh in cecilia and we re-zoned 70.153 acres and two tracks from r2 to a1 and it allowed her to have two houses there on the property next was i'm sure the first of many zone changes in and around the glendale mega site we're going to see so this was mr doug hagen at the corner of roby drive in kentucky 222 we merged five lots together there to create a 3.786 acre site rezoned that from rural residential r2 to the general commercial c2 top right there is a drone photograph that nick with engineering took for us so you always say if a picture's worth a thousand words that photo there not only

shows this site but shows the truck stops and shows i-65 so i think this site was well deserving of a commercial zone we did put an access restriction note on it there so that any commercial project would not be allowed to use the residential street of roby drive access would need to come there from kentucky 222 and just a few more slides on that zone change there so this was one of the first ones that map on the right that's the hardin county water district number two sewer system so when that was installed for the glendale site they actually already stubbed this property and then not only that but on the bottom left there you've got the realignment of the kentucky 222 interchange that'll be a new interchange there at i-65 so this kind of spilled out right there near that property again i'm sure the first of many so we've already done the second one that was also doug hagen and this was r2 to c2 as well this is a 12 acre site and we're at the intersection of new glendale road and gilead church road and this was rezoned from residential to commercial

no project proposed at this time but again intersection of two state highways this close to the mega site it was a deserving of a commercial zone uh next a couple items that went before the board of adjustment so bobcat enterprise is coming to elizabethtown uh this is the former harry owen trucking site out on lincoln parkway so they're going to be building a 6 000 square foot service building and then they wanted to put a 20 foot overhang on it to store equipment under kind of a display area so that overhang projected out into the front building setback so they needed a variance variance was approved by the board of adjustment and then lastly here this is rednecks dead car recovery and towing this is an automotive storage operation at the former uh masters supply building out where we're on 86 near the intersection with salt river road 920 so he's fenced everything in all the vehicles being stored would be behind the fence that there's existing screening not a junk yard so that received a

conditional use permit and that property already was zoned commercial looking at the various land use applications so far this year five boundary surveys three conditional use permits five development plans five zone changes 11 subdivision plots and four variances plots and lots nine plats recorded thus far by the end of february and only three lots so we've been doing a lot of amendments looking at building and electrical permits uh 50 building permits so far for the year 174 electrical permits uh the one i'm not crazy about here is the stock works so already five stop works for the year uh to the general public listening online or television you need a permit so that's either a building permit it's either a zoning permit or that's either an ag exhibit permit so come into our office and we're happy to help you navigate the process single family dwellings 13 so far the maps there on the right the most popular subdivision so far has
