Meeting of September 23, 2025

[Music] uh call this meeting of Ohio County Fiscal Court to order on this 23rd day of September, 2025 at 5:00 p. M we're going to ask brother Rodney Alen to come forward leader lead us in a pledge uh prayer and a pledge to the flag. — Afternoon everybody. Would you care to pray with me please? Father, we just want to come to you this afternoon and we're so grateful and thankful. Father, we we live in the best place in the world. Father, I thank you for Ohio County. I thank you for just the the freedoms that we have in America. And Lord, I realize that our nation seems to be under attack, but God, we trust all of our hands into yours. And God, we just ask you today to help decisions to be made that are based on you. And Father, help love to be what is important to each of us. Lord, let us grow in a sense of community. And Lord, we just want to thank you for the leaders that are in this room, the

leaders that are on this stage. And Father, we thank you for involvement in our government. We pray all these things in Jesus name. Amen. — Amen. — Amen. What we're wanting to do is to uh take in about 350 foot of that road extended and it's 16 foot wide. It's currently in gravel. a 2009 John Deere 7130, a 2007 John Deere 6615, and a uh a pothole patcher, a 20 2001 model, a John Deere mowing tractor, a 2018 model, and a 1999 Champion Greater. We'd like to have those things declared surplus, and we've talked about it in road committee today. So, one of y'all make that motion to do — I make the motion for that — motion with Chase. — Where will that money go? Deere which we found out is not compatible with Road. So, it'll bring quite a bit. I mean, it'll bring a more than anything else I'm named here that to go toward the purchase of new equipment. And yeah, we talked about all the surplus would go back to the purchase of the new equipment. That's one thing we make sure it goes to. — All in favor say I. — Post like sign. Motion carries. Need to get this back to uh Nick. And then also there there was four pieces of equipment that he's wanting to buy, but one of them is is is in a hurry. U you got that? It has a 5year warranty deal — and we have like I said four pieces we're looking at but this one and also would authorize the treasur to borrow the money until the FEMA money comes in then you pay it back.

— That' be part of the motion. — What's other pieces of equipment? — Um a a mowing tractor and a bush hog for it and a pothole patcher. — Okay, we need a pothole patcher. Yeah, we're going to get it next meeting if everything lines out. — The the reason they're wanting to look at purchasing the the MO trim because if they don't purchase it by a certain date, it it goes up $12,000. — Yeah. — That that's that's the hurry on that. The other one, there's really no hurry on it. So, — pole patcher. We're getting a newer one or — brand new. Okay. — Yeah. They're looking at a pothole patcher, a tractor, a bush hog, and a um — I think potho tractor. So So people — and the motor tractor is what we're talking about right now. So if I have a motion, a second on that, we'll proceed with that one and make part of the motion that to allow Candace to get the funds until the the money comes in and pay it back. — We're not going to put all the FEMA money, don't we? need to put some of that payment of money on repairing the road. — Absolutely.
