Ohio County Fiscal Court – May 14, 2024
The court handled a light routine agenda before recognizing a large group of local students. The Cooperative Road Aid Agreement with the state (about $18,139,000) was approved unanimously by roll call.
Several personnel hires were approved for the senior center and golf course, all at $13.53/hour. The court also voted to surplus a 2007 pickup truck from animal control, with proceeds to go back into animal shelter equipment funding.
Discussion arose over a $1,854 water bill for the Cromwell ball park caused by a leak; the court had not decided how to resolve it and planned to talk to the water district about a possible rate reduction. Magistrate Bullock proposed the court help fund the 'Senior Sunset' (formerly Project Graduation) event with $250 per magistrate, which passed by motion. The meeting closed with well-wishes for families affected by a recent fatal car wreck and a decision to move the June meeting from the 11th to the 10th to accommodate travel to a conference.

the West Kentucky Regional blood center out of Owensboro I have some uh young folks here tonight that I'd like to recognize please um and with judge's permission I emailed earlier Proclamation I'd like to read okay please okay and you if I need to sign it you can bring it to me I'll sign got you I have a Cofe you have a Cofe okay would you like to read it or you want me to you read it okay I whereas blood donors play a vital role in the Health Care system of Western Kentucky including the County of Ohio Kentucky and whereas voluntarily donating one unit of blood May save as many as three lives and whereas 15% of the blood supply is collected from high school blood donors and whereas the Western Kentucky Regional blood center ensures the safety of the blood supply and successfully recruits collects processes and delivers 100% of the life-saving blood products
