Summary
Ohio County Fiscal Court Special-Called Meeting — September 30, 2022
This brief special-called meeting opened with a prayer and flag salute before the court took up two main items of business. The first was formal approval of Resolution 202315, authorizing the FY 2022-23 KYTC Flex Funds Agreement, which the county had already agreed to when the grant application was submitted. This passed unanimously by roll-call vote.
The second item concerned authorization for the Judge/Executive to sign the Pennyrile Task Force Agreement, a routine annual agreement the county has signed in past years. However, magistrates raised concerns about apparent changes in the new contract related to how the Sheriff's Department designates task force workers, and no one present could clearly explain what had changed or why.
Because a representative from the Sheriff's office was waiting to have the agreement signed immediately, but magistrates wanted more time to review the changes, the court voted to table the matter until the next meeting so the differences between the old and new agreements could be clarified.
For residents, the main practical outcome is that state flex transportation funding for the county was formally approved, while a decision on the Pennyrile Task Force participation agreement was delayed pending further review.
