We're thankful that we live in a in a a country and a state and a county where we can come together in an open meeting, a public meeting and discuss our business that takes place here day in and day out in Ohio County. Ask you now be with these leaders, Father, as they make decisions on behalf of us. And I pray that they use you for guidance when they make those decisions. We just love and thank you so much. to accept them. Now we do. Um Landon, did you get your food service bids open? — Absolutely. — Come on up and tell us about them. — Appreciate you letting me go early. Uh we did take uh food service bids. Me and Sonia opened those up. Uh last meeting we had two bids. One from Trinity Service Group which is a national company and then we had a Kentucky based company named Kwell who put in a bid as well. Uh basically what they're offering is the buying power training and then to uh have a dietitian create our menus for our inmates that are in house. Uh both are going to be a savings compared to what we're budgeted to now. Right now we're budgeted about 140,000. Uh looks like Trinity come in at 62,000 uh with a 15% service fee. And then it looked like uh Kwell come in at $51,597 with a $35,000 annual fee which is broke down into about $2,400

uh a pay period. And then I I believe I'd like to go with the Kalewell based on it being a Kentucky based company. Uh, I think customer service would be a lot better. They service several jails around the state. So, I think we would have uh, you know, if something something was go wrong or we needed somebody here, it would be the same day or next day, I believe. So, — and that's your recommendation? — Yes, sir. I recommend going with the Kentucky based company — for and give us the name of the company and the amount one more time. — Okay. We know that because the bids were open at the last minute meeting and he needed to check and sort the apples and oranges out in the contract. — Absolutely. I can uh go ahead and get Okay, we've got some other things to go later here, but we're going to go and call on our sheriff, Adam Wright's going to give us a update on some things in town and and an official does make one at every meeting now for you. So, [clears throat] and I is it's our sheriff. There you go. Thank you guys for this opportunity to come up and talk to you guys. Appreciate your interest in the sheriff's office and I think it's a great thing for us to uh to notify the citizens of the county as well what's going on with our

sheriff's office. Um a lot of times they don't think about the sheriff's office until it's tax collection. They're coming to our taxes. They see one of our cruisers going down the road or they have to call us in an unfortunate situation. So I'll be real quick. I know there's a lot of things going on. So just you know shortly after coming into office one of the major hurdles that I wanted to address was the body warn cameras for our deputies. I believe that this equipment was important not only for the safety of and protection of our deputies but also for the citizens we serve today. These cameras have [clears throat] become a tremendous asset to our agency. They allow us to document interactions with citizens, preserve evidence, and document crime scenes for our investigations. — [clears throat] — When I first got this quote for this bill, I about fell out because it was over $91,000 for bodyguorn cameras for our deputies. U but thanks to a grant, we were able to make that happen without raising or before coming to the courts asking for money for that. So that was a great thing that we were able to uh to overcome. Another issue that I want to address and it's always been an ongoing problem is the illegal drug sales uh in our county. This continues to affect our citizens,

families, and communities every single day. Since taking office, we've worked hard to strengthen our relationship with the Kentucky State Police Drug Enforcement Section. Today, we have multiple personnel working together on a regular basis to investigate those uh who are wanting to come into our community, sell drugs, and uh target our children. Uh Desi is is the branch for the state police. They have set up a office inside the sheriff's office and at any given time you've got five four to five detectives working the fifth largest county in the state and that still isn't enough. I think if we had 10 it would still ongoing issue and so drugs continue to plague our our community but we are working diligently to take care of that. Uh while enforcement is important part of our job, I also believe it's uh building a positive relationship with our community is just as important and we've done that successfully through our programs. We stopped in at nursing homes. Uh we visit with those folks who are out there. Uh we go visit schools. We've also implemented a Ohio County Sheriff's Explore program. This is uh we
